I recently bought a 250 psi mini air compressor from Harbor Freight. It is for pumping up tires and inflating sports balls. Instead of plugging into the outlet, it plugs into a car cigarette lighter. I was wondering if I could somehow install a regulator on it so that I could use it as a "normal" air compressor (spray paint gun, etc.)??? I don't know the "operating psi" though...just that it's 250 psi max. Thanks.

i may be wrong in my thinking, but i thought psi, cfm, and hose dia were all "ratio related"...for instance i may have 100 psi flowing through a .25" dia hose and that may be 2 cfm...then when I increase the hose dia to 1", 100 psi might be 8 cfm...how can you have the same psi and hose dia in 2 different examples and end up with different cfm in each?

couldn't I use this mini air compressor, but increase the hose dia to a certain size to have the proper cfm?
